Supporting documents

Documents you need to upload

Before submitting the notice of marriage to BDM, you must upload:

• Signed NOIM
• Signed Declaration of No Legal Impediment
• Signed Marriage Certificate
• Any other legally required relevant documents

Note: You don’t need to provide scans of IDs. All we need is the numbers filled out in the form.

How to upload documents

You must save the form before you can upload documents.

In the marriage notification form:

1. Go to the Action list (just below the form’s top heading, on the right)
2. Select Add document and ‘Go’
3. Select the details describing the type of document
4. ‘Choose file’ to browse your computer and select the file to upload
5. ‘Save’

You can add documents after submission to BDM if the item is still being processed.

Can you use a photo of a document?

Yes, you can upload scans or photos of documents.

Print the NOIM and other documents

From the Drafts list:

1. Tick the box to the left of the person’s name
2. Select the Print button (at the bottom of the list)
3. Tick the box for the type of document you want to print
4. Select Generate document for printing, which downloads a PDF for printing
