Check submitted registrations

Under Death registration statement in the top menu, select Submitted to view a list of all registrations your organisation has submitted to BDM.

Corrections

If the doctor makes a mistake on the MCCD:

We can't correct the cause of death, date of death or place of death without a written statement from the certifying medical practitioner or Coroner's Court.
Our system will detect any discrepancies between the MCCD and the death registration. If this happens, we will follow up to detect and resolve the error.

If the death registration contains a mistake:

If the item is still in progress, contact us
If the death has been registered, the family must report the mistake to us by going to the ‘Changes and corrections’ section of the BDM website

If there is a delay with the MCCD

When you submit a death registration, the BDM system looks for a matching MCCD. We will follow up any outstanding MCCDs with the medical practitioner to ensure they are submitted.
